Each student must have a field of specialization and it is expected
that some portion of specialization course work will be taken outside
of the School. The particular combination of courses for each specialization
is to be designed by the student in consultation with his or her
advisor. Students may propose fields of specialization which are
not listed below.
As a part of the specialization, students will be required to take
PAD 5915r Supervised Research under the direction of their major
professor.
The focus of this course is on manuscript revision and /or proposal
preparation. The student works under the supervision of a faculty
member to produce a paper of publishable quality. The supervised
research course can have one or both of the following components:
the revision of a completed manuscript and its submission to a refereed
journal; the completion of an external grant proposal to fund dissertation
research. Three to five hours of graded (S/U) Supervised Research
credit will be given.
